Donatella Versace has stepped down from her role as head of fashion brand Versace after almost three decades in the position.

The 69-year-old will continue at the Italian firm, which was founded by her brother Gianni in 1978, as chief brand ambassador and will be replaced by Dario Vitale as chief creative officer.
