Cooler, cloudier days mark a return to autumn, with warmer layers easing us into the season for school runs, walks to the office and slow weekends.

At Blarney Woollen Mills, Irish wool, heritage tweed and traditional Aran knitwear has been reworked in shapes and shades that feel right for now.

Our highlight? The Irish Tweed Boyfriend Jacket in Brown Herringbone, €279, with a relaxed edge to a traditional fabric.

The liqueur

Baileys X Terry's Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur
Baileys X Terry's Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur

With the nights drawing in, spritzes and rosé are on the out, while red wine, whiskey and rich liqueurs are on the in. Baileys has become known for its limited-edition seasonal releases, and this one has caught our eye. The Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur collaboration combines two of our favourite flavours. We reckon it would make a delightful cheesecake dessert, or a particularly indulgent hot chocolate?

Available in select Dunnes Stores and Tesco stores, with nationwide distribution rolling out across SuperValu and Centra this month. Currently on offer for €14 with your Tesco Clubcard. RRP €21.

Alan Amsby, aka Mr Pussy, who is one of Ireland's longest performing and most successful drag queens.

Known for paving the way for Irish drag artists, Mr Pussy has become something of legend. In his early career Alan Amsby styled wigs for Marlene Dietrich, but his drag act saw him settle in Ireland where he forged friendships with Danny La Rue, opened a legendary cafe with Bono, and paved the way for Panti Bliss. He brings his latest show to the Everyman in Cork next Saturday, September 19.

The exhibition

A celebration of 10 years of Joanne Hynes x Dunnes Stores
A celebration of 10 years of Joanne Hynes x Dunnes Stores

Joanne Hynes is celebrating 10 years with Dunnes Stores this year, with a new exhibition at Trinity College Dublin to honour the milestone. Always the Weird Girl traces a decade of Hynes’ distinctive design, from her first collection in 2016 to her latest AW26 release, You Were Always Enough.

As part of the celebration, Hynes will present a collection of unique pieces created during the design process over the past decade that, for one reason or another, never made it into the final collections. These will be available to buy, with 100% of proceeds going to Féileacáin, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland.

The exhibition runs from September 18-19 at The Atrium, Trinity College Dublin, and is free to attend. The new collection will be on sale in selected Dunnes Stores — Stephen’s Green, Dundrum and Patrick Street, Cork — and online from mid-October.

VOYA has expanded its bestselling body care collection with two new sensory showcases: ‘Iridescence Awakening Sugar Scrub’ and ‘Vibrancy Luxury Body Butter’. Promising to awaken and hydrate dry, dull skin, it brings the spa experience home.

Designed to be used individually or layered together, the Sligo manufacturers took inspiration from the cleansing natural rituals of the sea.

The Awakening Sugar Scrub, for example, is inspired by the natural exfoliation of beach sand.

Body butter, 200g, €58, and sugar scrub, 200ml, €46.

The experience

Jameson x Fable Bakery experience
Jameson x Fable Bakery experience

Over the last few years, it really feels like the country’s bakery scene has exploded, with neighbourhood bakeries, speciality coffee spots and cult pastry destinations becoming a staple. Fable founders Kate and Elyse are a great example of this boom, having started making pastries in their kitchen during the pandemic before moving to market stalls, Sprout’s Dawson St branch and now their own home in Dún Laoghaire.

These days, their production kitchen is a stone’s throw from the Jameson Distillery in Smithfield, making a collaboration between the two a no-brainer.

The Jameson Black Barrel Irish Coffee Workshop invites visitors to learn the story of the humble Irish coffee, taste the four blends that make up Jameson Black Barrel, then put their knowledge to good use by crafting their own speciality coffee, all while enjoying Fable pastries crafted exclusively for this experience. Our favourite? A cross-laminated croissant with Black Barrel whiskey and orange marmalade, smoked Irish cheese and thyme béchamel topped with a cheese and onion crisp crumb. Divine.

Launched this week, the experience has a limited seasonal run. €60.
