The Collector by Joanne Hynes is available now

Designer Joanne Hynes has unveiled her latest selection of looks at Dunnes Stores.

The Collector is described as an ode to the joy of finding old, forgotten heirlooms and often abandoned things, inspired by the designer’s joy in hunting in vintage stores, charity shops, old warehouses and auctions.

Motifs play an important role, bringing memory and meaning to the wearer, Hynes says. The items feature wood-grain patterns from an old mahogany chest of drawers and lacquered furniture, fine ceramic birds and porcelain flowers, a precious gold locket printed onto an embellished T-shirt.

A marble washstand, a tortoiseshell powder puff, faux gemstones and old coat buttons in jars are reimagined in key pieces. Broken vintage crystal droplets from old chandeliers collected in London in 2001 find another life on this collection’s crystal printed jersey shirt with a separate faux marble stone and snakeskin collar.

The Collector by Joanne Hynes is available now, exclusively in Dunnes Stores Stephen’s Green and Dundrum in Dublin, as well as Bandon Road in Cork and online at dunnesstores.com.
