Shackleton Experience in Athy, Co Kildare, is the only institution in the world dedicated to Kildare-born polar explorer Ernest Shackleton.

Following a multi-million euro refurbishment, it combines the largest collection of Shackleton artefacts in the world with immersive interactive experiences which bring his journeys to life.

From the meticulously restored wooden cabin where he died aboard the ship Quest in 1922, to the sledge and harness used on the Nimrod Expedition and replica models of the Endurance and Quest ships, there’s much to excite.
