Under-18s will be refused entry to Avicii gig, says concert producer

Organisers of the Avicii concert in Dublin next week are warning that under 18s will not be allowed in.

They say it is strictly an over-18s-only event, and anyone who is underage can get a refund from Ticketmaster.

Avicii hits Marlay Park next Friday along with Rudimental and Clean Bandit supporting.

Melvin Benn from Festival Republic said that strict ID checks will be carried out at the gates.

"If they're under 18 and they think they're going to succeed with fake ID or anything like that [they won't]," he said.

"I will tell you, the check-in will be rigorous, and we will not be allowing under-18s in.

"It's a very clear commitment from myself as the producer of the show, it's a very clear commitment from MCD as the promoter of the show, it's a very clear commitment from the Gardaí.

"We're going to be very strong on it."
