Irish comedians win big at The British Comedy Awards

Moone Boy took home the award for Best Sitcom, and Mrs. Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll was announced the winner of the Writers Guild of Great Britain award.

Irish comedians win big at The British Comedy Awards

Chris O'Dowd,Brendan O'Carroll and Aisling Bea are celebrating their wins at the annual British Comedy Awards.

Chris O'Dowd series Moone Boy took home the award for Best Sitcom, and Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll was announced the winner of the Writers Guild of Great Britain award.

The hilarious Cork native Graham Norton took home two awards, including Best Comedy Entertainment Personality.

An award well deserved - sure what else would we be doing with our Friday nights?

Aisling Bea from Kildare was presented with Best Female TV Comic for her role in 8 out of 10 Cats.

After her win at the Wednesday night awards she quickly took to Twitter and thanked people for their well wishes in this witty tweet.

Aisling is also is a regular on shows such as IQ and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
