VIDEO: James Corden joins the cast of the Phantom of the Opera

James Corden got to fulfill a childhood dream recently when he joined the cast of the Phantom of the Opera for a once-off performance.

Corden was cast as a minor character, Fop 2, in the show, however, he believed he was taking on the title role of the Phantom himself.

Poor fool, he doesn’t know.

He wasn’t impressed when he realised the truth, as this very funny video shows.

The distance from his dressing room to the stage was the final straw for the Late Late Show host.

"I’ve come here to play the Phantom of the Opera, I’m being told I’m playing a bloody hairdresser, now it looks like my dressing room is in San Fran-fucking-cisco!"

Despite his misgivings, Corden soon embraced the opportunity and stole the show as the supporting character.

"We are all fops."
