American wearing stars and strips arrested on 4th of July for playing national anthem loudly
The United States celebrated its independence day earlier this month, and one Florida man decided to show his colours in style - before the police stepped in.
Lane Pittman, draped in the stars and stripes, took to the streets of his Jacksonville community with an electric guitar on July 4, ready to show his patriotism with a version of The Star Spangled Banner.
His rocking out gathered a crowd of over a hundred in the street to sing along, which blocked the intersection.
Orlando Weekly reports that Pittman was arrested - which can be seen at the end of the video - for breach of the peace following his performance.
A local police chief for Neptune Beach is quoted as saying: "Out of respect for the national anthem, they let them finish".

In the video's description, Pittman claims he had begun playing guitar in the middle of the street before being asked, by an officer, to move to the sidewalk.
"I thought I was in the clear because the original officer told me it was okay to play on the sidewalk," he wrote. "I guess he failed to let his fellow officers know because they detained me."
He also stressed that he was not encouraging "rebelling against authority."
The Orlando Weekly wrote that Pittman has now hired an attorney, claiming he was arrested wihtout any explanation and without his rights being read to him.
