A late season surge in the title race only emboldened the scousers’ confidence until Manchester City stole in-front with two games remaining and claimed the trophy.

This season, however, has been a total and utter disaster for the Merseyside reds.

Languishing ninth in the Premier League table, out of the Champions League and – worst of all – now consigned to Thursday night Europa League dates, it’s shaping up to be a forgettable season for Liverpool.
