Thomas on song as firm’s profits soar to €160,000

Accounts filed by the presenter of The Voice Of Ireland show that accumulated profits at Thomas’s Aquarius Productions Ltd increased last year by €28,523, or 21%, from €131,404 to €159,927.
The firm’s cash pile more than doubled, from €42,117 to €113,598 in the 12 months to the end of Feb 29, 2012.
The firm’s directors, Ms Thomas and Peter Gwynne Thomas, were owed an interest-free loan of €67,434 by the firm.
The company is controlled and owned by Thomas and filings show that she set up the firm in 2007 as her TV career blossomed.
The 34-year old native of Carlow first came to wide public notice through presenting the No Frontiers travel show on RTÉ.
After that, Thomas co-presented Winning Streak between 2009 and 2011 and took over from the late Gerry Ryan as the presenter of Operation Transformation in 2011.
Operation Transformation was one of RTÉ’s top shows this year, with itsfinale attracting 645,000 viewers. In its current run, The Voice of Ireland has been, at times, Ireland’s most watched TV show.
Thomas also acts as stand-in on RTÉ Radio One’s John Murray show.
In an interview with the RTÉ Guide this week, Ms Thomas confirmed that she is in discussions with the national broadcaster on new projects. After the upcoming final of The Voice of Ireland, Ms Thomas said: “I have two months off, so I am going to do a bit of travel, get lost, go exploring, reconnect with that sort of travel which I haven’t done in a while.”
She added: “Then I want to get back into it and focus on developing my own projects that I am in talks with RTÉ about. Also, I want do more radio as well and then back on Operation Transformation in October.”
