Former Westlife member Brian McFadden has issued a call-out for aspiring boyband members.
McFadden hopes to create “the next big boyband” and is inviting teens aged between 17 and 19 to apply online for an audition. Applications will close on Sunday, October 25 at 5pm and applicants will be contacted with details of an in-person audition in Dublin.
“I’m really excited to be putting together a brand-new Irish boyband and discovering the next generation of talent,” McFadden says.
“We’re looking for lads aged 17 to 19 who have great voices, personality, ambition and, most importantly, a passion for music. Ireland has always produced incredible talent, and I believe the next big boyband is out there waiting to be discovered.
“This could be a life-changing opportunity, so if you think you’ve got what it takes, we want to hear from you.”
McFadden was a member of Westlife in the late 1990s before leaving to pursue a solo career. He tours today as part of BoyzLife, with Boyzone’s Keith Duffy.
Assisting in the search for talent are Sarah Gallagher, founder of NDA Talent, and London-based senior music agent Paul Franklin. Gallagher manages the careers of Olly Murs and Five through NDA Talent, while Franklin has worked with artists including Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey, McFly, The Saturdays, and The Wanted.
Industry experts from across the music business will also be involved in the audition process.
