Swanning about: Watch as Belfast police return runaway bird

The swan was escorted down Antrim Road, Belfast, by two policeman.

Some unusual creatures have roamed Antrim road in the past but a runaway swan would give most people a pause.

Escorted by two officers from the PSNI, the big bird was swanning down the street when Sinéad Mackie captured the footage.

The swan had flown the coup from the Waterworks in Belfast and was making good its escape down the rainy north Belfast road before the police caught the waterfowl.

Why did the swan cross the road? Because it was the chicken's day off.
