Cork woman juggles media requests after recreating that dance on Joker steps
Laura Dorgan has reached new heights after recreating THAT dance scene on the Bronx steps from the new Joker movie.
The staircase, located at 167th Street, is one of the most recognisable locations in the new movie, which sees the actor dancing down the steps after becoming The Joker.
The Cork native, who works as a personal trainer in New York, decided to take a few photos at location over the weekend as they’ve quickly become a tourist attraction.
Whilst there Dorgan built up the courage, aided by her husband Michael, to recreate Joaquin Phoneix's moves.
Both the photo and video have proved so popular, media outlets from Singapore to Russia have used it in features.
A TV station in Tokyo even asked to use it in a TV ad.
Speaking to the The Echo about the reaction it has received, Laura said: “My phone has been going non-stop.
"I’ve been featured in newspapers in Moscow, Singapore, the UK and only this morning I was asked to be featured in an ad campaign in Tokyo - it’s absolute madness!"
"Michael and I were walking around the city and we wanted to check out the steps from Joker"
"I had the Fila's on and Michael convinced me to take a picture - doing the iconic pose from the film."
