The Shape I'm In: Food blogger Indy Power
We know porridge is one of the best ways to start the day but being virtuous day in, day out can be boring.
Step in food blogger Indy Power who has joined forces with Flavahans to produce an appetising series of recipes, inspired by the cuisine of Hawaii, Japan, Italy, and India.
We particularly like the exotic offering from Hawaii: 90g oats, 200ml water, 200ml unsweetened coconut milk, 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
Put the lot into a pot and cook over a medium heat for three minutes. Serve with 200g of pineapple.
Just what’s needed to put the sunshine into your morning.
A high-energy multi-tasker, Indy has a newspaper column, a blog, cookbook, recipe app and more than 68, 000 followers on Instagram.
She married Tom Parsons in 2017, they are expecting their first child in six weeks’ time.

I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant so, round.
I’ve made a big effort to stay active throughout my pregnancy, mainly with long walks and yoga and I think it’s really helped. I’ve had a relatively easy pregnancy and I’ve really loved it so far.
To read Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth. It’s the most inspiring, empowering book and has completely changed my outlook on labour and pregnancy as a whole.
I eat a really varied plant-based diet with lots of veg, beans/legumes, wholegrains etc so my diet is all pretty healthy. I love eating this way, it’s so delicious and I feel so good as a result.
I don’t really feel guilty about anything I eat.
I think it’s so important to have a balanced approach to food and really enjoy it. Food is so much more than fuel, it’s one of the best things about life.
I can’t wait to have a few glasses of my favourite red wine after my pregnancy. I definitely won’t feel guilty about it.
I’m quite an overthinker and I experience quite bad anxiety at times. Sleep is one of the first things to go during those periods. It’s usually not one thing but a combination of things, so I try to really slow down and look after myself to get back on track.
Spending time with family and friends, eating out, travelling. I love going for hikes on the weekend with my husband and dog too. Just putting away my phone and being with people I love is the best way to switch off.
That’s a tough call — I think Louis Theroux, Chrissy Teigen, Obama, and JK Rowling.
My mum used to have a furniture shop when I was little and she sold these French-scented candles and always had one particular flavour burning in the shop.
It was a sort of sweet hazelnut smell and it’s my favourite smell in the world.
That was about 15 years ago but I still have one leftover candle, I don’t light it because I don’t want to waste it but I love smelling it.
I’d love to have more freckles on my face. My sister has the most gorgeous ones all over her cheeks and nose that I love.
The finale of The Handmaid’s Tale, I watched it a few weeks ago and I was properly sobbing out loud.
The south of France. I’ve been going there with my family since I was a toddler. I got married there and we try and go as much as we can.
I love the quote ‘do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’, I don’t necessarily think it’s completely true as doing what you love can definitely be hard work but I love the sentiment behind it.
I think it’s so important for quality of life to prioritise passion when it comes to work.
I remember really clearly meeting my little sister in hospital when she was born. I was about two and a half.
No, I’m not religious at all. Neither are my parents so it’s never been a part of my life.
A text from my husband, a cuddle with my dog, a hug from my dad.
