Rescued golden Labrador upstages Rosanna Davidson at ISPCA fundraiser
Maggie, a golden Labrador rescued from a puppy farm stole the limelight from model and dog lover Rosanna Davidson, as she leant a helping hand to an animal charity.
The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA), launched their charity calendar for 2020 to raise much needed funds, with the former Miss World turned nutritionist and charity ambassador. But it was Maggie, who features in the calendar who melted hearts.
Maggie was rescued by the ISPCA from a puppy farm where she was kept in very poor living conditions. It took her a long time to trust humans again, but since her fabulous new family came along and adopted her.
Since then, she has not looked back and is now living the life of luxury by the sea in Dublin, despite her various problems.
The launch coincides with World Animal Week which runs until October 7 and the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals on World Animal Day on Friday.
Rosanna brought along her adored dogs Ted and Leo and called on all animal lovers to raise awareness for animal welfare especially during World Animal Week.
Rosanna said: “I am always delighted to support the great work of the ISPCA and to help raise awareness for animal welfare, a cause close to my heart.
“There are so many ways to help the ISPCA like getting your copy of this fabulous calendar, to volunteering in your spare time to adopting a rescued animal”.

The ISPCA has been saving animals for the past 70 years. Back in 1949 the ISPCA was born when it was set up by a group of dedicated and committed animal welfare societies around Ireland.
In 2002, the National Animal Centre was opened in rural Longford and was Ireland’s first rehabilitation centre and hope to Irelands most cruelly treated, neglected and abused animals.
Since then, the Inspectorate team has grown to nine authorised officers, rescuing animals from the most appalling situations.
Carmel Murray from the ISPCA added that the charity relies heavily on public support so we can continue our work rescuing, rehabilitating and responsibly rehoming thousands of animals with 88% of our funds coming from public donations.
“We hope that by reading the heart-warming animal rescue stories in our calendar, that it will inspire animals lovers to continue supporting our vital work caring for Ireland’s most cruelly treated animals”.
