It was the role he always dreamt of, and now Killian Donnelly returns to Ireland in a West End production as Jean Valjean, writes Esther McCarthy.

When he was ten, Killian Donnelly’s dad gave his music-mad son a gift of a Colm Wilkinson CD. Little could he have imagined then that his boy would end up playing Wilkinson’s most iconic role, Jean Valjean, on stage, or become one of the most in-demand stars on the West End.
