These wedding guests were sent a bill by the newlyweds for not showing up
We know it must be annoying when invited guests flake on your wedding but would you really send them a bill?
A couple from Minnesota were faced with that exact scenario when they were unable to attend a friend's wedding recently.
Jessica Baker and her husband had organised a babysitter, Jessica's mother, for their children on the day, but at the last minute she had to cancel. That meant they couldn't attend the wedding which had specified no children.
The Bakers thought nothing more of it until they received this in the post - a bill for $75.90, covering the cost of two meals, plus tax and a service charge and a note which read:
"This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVP'd for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated," the note read.
âMy first reaction was just, âYouâve got to be kidding me. Youâve got to be kidding me,'â Baker told KARE, an NBC affiliate.
âAnd then, when I read it, the whole thing, I just kind of laughed and had to call up my husband and go, âUh, our friends sent us this bill for not making it to their wedding.â And we kind of had a good laugh about it.â
KARE posted it to their Facebook page where it has generated a lot of debate. While some have pointed out that it's rude to not show up with no explanation, others have said this is an accepted cost when it comes to catering and weddings.

What do you think? Reasonable request or crazy notions?
