This ultra-HD timelapse of an erupting volcano is a must-watch

When the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile erupted for the first time in 40 years, a team of professional videographers caught it in glorious 4K resolution.

The resulting footage of an apocalyptic mushroom cloud blotting out the sky is truly excellent, especially paired with some suitably dramatic music.

The eruption seen here took place on April 22 this year, for the first time in 40 years it did so.

Caught on a ferry from one location to another, "we noticed a massive, almost nuclear looking cloud boiling upwards," said Martin Heck from Timestorm Films.

"This was for sure the most incredible show I've ever seen. I think this is a one in a lifetime event and I am so happy that we were able to capture it in all its glory."
