Historic Galway castle gets its own marriage equality mural
The eye-grabbing marriage equality mural on George's Street now has a companion west of the Shannon, after a restored historic castle received a facelift a few days before the referendum.

Caher Castle in Caherkinmonwee is owned by Peter Hayes. He rents it out on AirBnB, where he describes himself as "an eccentric stonemason, father, and proud castle owner."
Hayes used to be a clothing designer before he turned stonemason, and works on castles across Ireland.
The new mural will be recognised by Dubliners as a similar style to the one erected on George's Street in Dublin - it comes from the same Irish artist, Joe Caslin.
Caslin's Dublin mural is looking the worse for wear a few days before polling, as heavy rain has taken its toll on the biodegradable paper material.

The George's Street building was also a historic building, so Caslin's been very careful with his materials.
Polls open at 7am on Friday morning, with a result expected by Saturday evening.
