VIDEO: Builder turns house into an amazing cat playground
Peter Cohen has really gone above and beyond the call of duty for his rescue cats.
Back in 1988, Cohen bought this house in Goleta, California and it happened to come with two feral cats that lived in the garden. One of them died and the other became housebound after being hit by a car so to keep it company, he took in another rescue cat. And so began his slightly bizarre journey of turning his home into the ultimate cat sanctuary.
Peter is a builder and, over the years, he has constructed elaborate walkways, catwalks, tunnels and perches around his home for his many cats - he now has at least a dozen.
There are specially designed closets that contain litter boxes and fans to waft any odors away and he also has five Roombas (those roving Hoover machines) patrolling his house to pick up all the cat hair.
All in all, Peter has spent $40,000 (around €35,000) on the amazing playground which, while slightly mad, seems to please the cats.
There's even a koi pond.
