The cheapest pints in Ireland? Probably
By Denise O'Donoghue
No one expects to have an affordable night out in Dublin, but this pub has surprised the nation.
Trevor Maguire sent a receipt from Dicey's pub on Harcourt Street to a Cork radio station to highlight the price of drinks in Ireland. They weren't too expensive - in fact, the city centre pub was charging well below average.
Drinks in Dicey's were €2 each. Pints of Heineken, Carsberg, Budweiser and Coors and a bottle of WKD Blue cost him just €10.
The prices were a result of the pub's "Thank F*ck It's Monday @ Dicey's" promotion, where all drinks and burgers are just €2.
RedFM shared the receipt on their Facebook page and commenters soon debated the cost of socialising in Ireland.
One person pointed out that the bus to Dublin is so reasonably priced that "it may well be cheaper to get the bus, go to Dublin, rock into Dicey's, have a night out and get the bus back instead of going out in Cork".
It's a welcome change to one pub in Temple Bar, which infamously charged almost €20 for two drinks and two packets of Tayto last July.
