SuperValu falls prey to autocorrect, promotes 'bastard turkey'

Whoops.

Well, that's an unfortunate typo.

SuperValu sent their customers a promotional text message this morning highlighting the eggscellent value offered by their turkeys.

The bastards - wait, what now?

"Frozen Bastard Turkey 4kg-5kg was €18.99 NOW ONLY €7.99", the text cheerfully announced.

Now, we assume they were talking about basted turkeys, but maybe they've just had enough of the gobbledegook and decided it was time for some straight talking.

They got a bit of a roasting over Twitter for it, and highlights why one should always double-check texts being sent to hundreds (or perhaps thousands?) of phones, as many customers told them online. Sage advice.

Still, it might be a bit of a cock-up, but in the end, there was no real fowl. Just an honest mistake.
