Catch these glimpses of Ireland from 60 years ago

Tourist videos of Dublin and the West of Ireland will mesmerise you.

These clips will show you how much has changed since 1950s Ireland.

The cars, the clothes, the streets, the shops - the Dublin of 60 years ago looks totally alien to us now. As alien as the camera was to the people back then, judging by their bemused looks.

It was loaded onto YouTube in August by Michael Rogge, and he has a fantastic collection on his channel that includes time capsules from around the world.

But back to Ireland, here's some scenes of the countryside near Carna, Clifden and Galway, captured by a tourist on 16mm film.

They could have been taken from a Paul Henry painting.
