Butterfly lands on flautist's face during international music competition

She stays remarkably composed, in fairness.

Butterfly lands on flautist's face during international music competition

We don't know why, but this odd little clip is strangely beautiful.

Japanese flautist Yukie Ota was performing at a competion in Denmark yesterday - the 5th Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, to be precise - when a random and rather large butterfly landed on her face.

She stays remarkably composed, as the insect takes a breather from its busy schedule of nectar-supping to gently flap its wings in time to Sancan's Sonatine for flute and piano*.

It's not known if Ota gets extra points for being, well, unflappable (sorry).

*Yes, we had to look that up.
