Bray is getting a giant water slide next week
700 lucky people will get the chance to fly down a water slide on Bray Head as part of next week's Bray Summerfest.
The slide will be made from hay bales and tarpaulin and will have free-flowing water with some suds thrown in. The participants will use li-los to slide the 90 metres down the hill - reaching speeds of up to 25km per hour.
How much fun is this going to be!

To be in with a chance to take part, you must first register The 700 sliders will be then chosen at random. Everyone over five years old is welcome to take part. The chosen ones will be given an alloted slide time over the weekend of July 12th and 13th.
Mick Glynn, director of Bray Summerfest, is as excited as we are:
“It’s the biggest-ever outdoor slide of its kind in Ireland. There’s nothing like this that has been done before. The unusual mountainside location is known to many as the start of the popular cliff walk but on July 12 and 13 revellers will be able to fly down on a li-lo!”
The organisers took inspiration from a similiar event that took place in Bristol back in May. 360 people got to go down a waterslide in the city centre after 100,000 registered.
And in case anyone is planning on taking part in the Bray event, here's a video of what NOT to do when going down the slide.
Brilliant.
