'Goldilocks' burglar finds out life is no fairy tale

And in a separate incident, a burglar was arrested because he left his Facebook logged in at the scene of the crime. How embarassing.

'Goldilocks' burglar finds out life is no fairy tale

These two stories will leave you wondering about the standard of criminals these days.

First up, we have this young woman from Florida who found out real life is NOTHING like a fairy tale - especially when you commit a crime.

Chancy Layton - now of course known as 'Goldilocks' - is facing charges of burglary, criminal mischief and petty theft after she entered a house, took a shower, ate some food and fell asleep on the couch. And that's where the actual owners of the house found her, hours later.

Cheryl Petocz told News4Jax what happened when returned home to find Chancy asleep on her apparently 'just right' couch.

"Not what I expected to see when I walked into my house. There was lots of bottles of wine that she drank. She was clearly not in a clear state," said Cheryl.

"I told her I was calling police. As soon as I said that, she grabbed few things and ran out the house, out the back door."

Unfortunately for Chancy, she left her PASSPORT behind. And when police arrested her, she was wearing pyjamas belonging to one of the residents. Honestly...

According to police, she was very apologetic and wanted to return the clothes. Layton told police that she did it because she didn't want to sleep outside.

In other bungled burglary news, this guy decided to check his Facebook mid-way through a robbery and forgot to log out.

But wait, it gets dumber.

After discovering that the burglar - Nicholas Wig - had broken into his home and left his Facebook logged in on his computer, homeowner James Wood posted from Wig's account saying that he had robbed him and left his phone number for anyone with information to contact him. Wig himself then texted Wood later that day.

James told CBS4 what happened next.

“I replied 'you left a few things at my house last night, how can I get them back to you?'"

Wood agreed to meet Wig to exchange his left-behind belongings for his stolen phone. Needless to say as soon as Wood saw his robber walking down the street, he called the police and Wig was arrested.

Hardly criminal masterminds, these two.
