Kid's thoughtful letter gets her dad a week off work
Somebody's getting ice-cream for breakfast!
Katie's dad works at Google and only gets Saturday off. She thought this was a little unfair and with his birthday coming up, she decided to see what she could do about it.
Katie sent this letter to her father's boss, asking if he could have a Wednesday off too because "it's daddy's birthday!".

The full letter reads:
“Dear google worker,
Can you please make sure when daddy goes to work, he gets one day off. Like he can get a day off on wednesday. Because daddy ONLY gets a day off on saturday.”
“P.S. It is daddy’s BIRTHDAY!”
"P.P.S. It is summer you, know"
How freaking cute is that?
Katie's thoughtful letter prompted her dad's boss, Daniel Shiplacoff, to not only give her Dad Wednesday off for his birthday - he also gave him the entire week off.
In a letter thanking her for her kindness, Daniel recognised the importance of taking some Wednesdays off during the summer and told Katie that her father had been hard at work designing for Google and that he could take the first week of July as holiday.

We bet there will be now be a lot of mommies and daddies gently coercing their kids into writing similiar, completely spontaneous and adorable notes explaining to their boss why they need a week off too.
It seems kids can be pretty useful sometimes. Who knew?
