Bride uses RTÉ’s panel in special wedding surprise for hubby

Bride Julie-Ann Coleman had a bit of shock in store for her new husband David Jones on their wedding day.

After telling a cute story about how David took her number down wrong when they first met and continued to text the wrong person for a week until realising, Juile-Ann was fit to burst with excitement to unveil the gift she had got David for their special day.

She and her wedding videographer had managed to secure RTÉ’s famous panel of Bill O' Herlihy, Liam Brady, John Giles and Eamon Dunphy to record ‘analysis’ of Julie-Ann and David’s decision to marry.

Bill kicks off the action throwing the first comment to Liam who is typically cautious with his views:

“I actually think David is taking a big chance Bill. He’s a really top lad,” said Brady.

“I think he’s taking a risk, but it might be a risk worth taking. I prefer to see the game unfold before I make a final decision.”

Dunphy then chimes in with a few classic lines:

“She’s a smasher Julie-Ann, an absolute smasher! I don’t think he can be controlled this David fella.”

“I just want to wish Julie-Ann the best, and David, if it all goes pear-shaped I’m always here for you baby!”

John Giles warns Julie-Ann not only must she love David but she will have to learn to love the panel as well.

“I hope she is a fan of the panel as well, because if she isn’t then the marriage might not last that long,” says the senior analyst.

Finally, good old Bill signs off by giving David some solid guidance for his new married life:

“After 43 years of marriage let me give you a piece of advice. I have learned that only two things are necessary to keep your wife happy.”

“First, let her think she is having her own way and second, let her have her own way!”

The skit, released on YouTube today, was recorded during Ireland’s 3-0 loss to Germany last October and the panel look clearly to have had fun with it.
