Katy Perry tortures children and old people in latest video

Well, this is a bit mad. And confusing. And … well, just watch.

Yesterday, Katy Perry released a video which sees her making children cry, torturing old men, dressing up as a terrible Jewish party entertainer and generally making a disaster of everything.

The set-up is for her song "Birthday", so she dresses up as a series of birthday entertainers and arrives in full costume - while her audience has no idea who she is.

It's a little slow to start, as it introduces you to every character she plays, but stick with it, because it gets genuinely weird in the middle.
