France 24 mistake AIB for Anglo

France 24 have won our fail of the day award.

During the business section of their newscast, the broadcaster covered the story of the convictions of former directors of Anglo Irish Bank Pat Whelan and Willie McAteer.

However, instead of flashing up images of the now defunct bank, France 24 showed stock footage of AIB (skip to 2.40 in the video).

They’re not the only ones to make such a mistake - the Guardian in the UK made the same one.
