Dublin Airport joins campaign to rid world of 'Patty's Day'

To banish the curse of St Patty, Dublin Airport have launched a Facebook campaign to spread the word of the real name of our national day.

Not pointing at anyone in particular, USA AND CANADA, the airport posted the Facebook notice below to alert anyone who is confused on the issue of the correct pronunciation.

For anyone who disputes it, let paddynotpatty.com boss Marcus Campbell explain:

"Paddy is derived from the Irish, Pádraig: the source of those mysterious, emerald double-Ds. Patty is the diminutive of Patricia, or a burger, and just not something you call a fella."
