Sharon wants Kelly to start dating after 'amicable' split with fiance

Kelly Osbourne insists her split from Matthew Mosshart wasn't "dramatic."

The 'Fashion Police' co-host, who confirmed on Wednesday that she had ended her engagement with the vegan chef, claims they mutually decided to call off their upcoming wedding as it simply "wasn't the right time" for them to be together.

Opening up about the split for the first time, the 29-year-old star told E! News: "It was a mutual decision. We love each other very much, it just wasn't the right time for us, and I think that if we're weren't as mature and as adult as we are then we could have gone down a road that got not very nice.

"We're still really really good friends, we're just not living in the same house."

She added: "There is no dramatic story. I wish there was so there was something to tell people, but no, it just happens in life."

Kelly, who was recently named in Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30 Hollywood list, is determined to focus on her blossoming career and make her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, proud.

The 'X Factor' judge, 61, insisted that there was no hard feelings between Kelly and Matthew, who dated for more than two years after meeting at Kate Moss's wedding in 2011, but admitted she was relieved that they never got married.

She said: "Matthew is a lovely guy. They had two great years together of fun and love, and for me, that's why engagements are so important. Engagements are a test run, aren't they? And so it didn't work for whatever reason, but they are still good friends and will continue to be. It's just not right for them right now."

Sharon also poured cold water on new rumours Kelly is being romanced by Justin Bieber, 19, after he showed her how to spray paint graffiti in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

She said: "They're friends. They're just mates, that's all."

Kelly, who is currently writing a book and preparing to launch her own fashion line, said: "It's been so much fun not just being known as Sharon and Ozzy's daughter, like, I'm me now and it's amazing.

"That's all I've ever wanted to do in my life is work hard enough so that I have enough money so my parents never have to work again."

Kelly battled a drug problem when she was younger and admitted: "Ten years ago I was 19 years old. I don't even think I'd be alive today, I'd be lying if I said anything else."
