Justin Timberlake sings 'The Auld Triangle'
This is interesting.
Inside Llewyn Davis is the latest film from the Coen Brothers, who we all know as the auteurs of such classics as Fargo, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and much, much more.
Set in Greenwich Village in 1961, Joel and Ethan's latest opus stars Justin Timberlake as a young folk singer struggling to make it big.
"Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles -- some of them of his own making," runs the blurb. Carey Mulligan is in it as well, along with Coens stalwart John Goodman, so that's good.
Judging by the trailer, it looks worth catching, although we don't know what the role of the cat is.
Anyhoo, of particular interest to our ears will be Mr Timberlake's rendition of Irish folk song The Auld Triangle, originally written by Dominic Behan (brother of Brendan), and featured in Brendan's play The Quare fellow.
You can hear Timberlake take on the tune - along with Marcus Mumford, Chris Thile and others - by clicking on the below link:

Old Trousersnake isn't the only musician to attempt this song, with versions having been recorded over the years by The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, U2, The Pogues and Glen Hansard, among others.
But of course, the seminal version of the tune is by The Dubliners, and the late, great Luke Kelly. The below version was recorded in Germany in 1976.
Watch, enjoy and let us know - how does Justin's version stack up?
