Artist turns dead ostrich into a helicopter

For the love of god and all that is holy, why?

Artist turns dead ostrich into a helicopter

That headline isn't even an exaggeration.

Bart Jansen is the artist who turned his dead cat, Orville, into a helicopter last year. At the time, he said it was both a form of art and a "tribute" to his pet "after a period of mourning".

So, naturally, a year later, he's made a flying giant OstrichCopter. Of course he did.

Dubbed "the world's first flying ostrich", the OstrichCopter was made from the carcass of a dead male ostrich picked up at a farm for the animals.

"This must be its wildest dream, to able to fly and finally escape them untrustworthy Wildebeests," the YouTube video description notes.

And it's not like this was easy - a male ostrich weighs about 115kg and is more than 6ft tall.

It's the next logical step.
