Bell X1 added to Indiependence lineup
Irish indie favourites Bell X1 join De La Soul and Bastille as headliners at the Indiependence festival in Mitchelstown, Co Cork next August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Bell X1 recently released their new studio album, 'Chop Chop', recorded in Connecticut with producers Peter Katis (The National) and Thomas Bartlett (The Gloaming).
The first single from the album, ‘The End is Nigh’, is streaming from the band’s site www.bellx1.com
It was also announced today that the Comedy Tent will be headlined by the bestselling author of Irish Mammy, Cork’s Colm O'Regan.
He’ll be joined by the award-winning Gearoid Farrelly ('So You Think You’re Funny') and MC David Reilly.
Also Adding to the laughs will be Conor O'Toole, Simon Mulholland, George Fox, Damon Blake, Edwin Sammon, Aidan Greene, Cian McGarrigle, Allison Spittle, The Glen Coco Experience, Colin Chadwick, Giles Brody, Kevin McGahern, Kevin Goldsmith, Jim Elliot and Accident & Emergency.
Cork’s Underground Film Festival crew will be showcasing some of Europe’s finest award winning short films ahead of the Dare Media Underground Short Film Festival.
This summer also sees three brand new indoor areas at Indiependence.
The Bier Halle will feature a full craft bar, a games area and an intimate indoor stage.
Irish punk poet Jinx Lennon will headline new spoken word stage The Apocalyptic Darkness Arena.
The new Light Arena will contain the new Hot Press Hot Spot, the silent disco, family activities and the live broadcast centre.
