Back to work blues? Here's 11 dogs swimming for the first time
Everybody knows that dogs love the water.
Lots of them are even bred for their swimming abilities, including some completely normal ones as well as some lesser-known breeds.
But for every dog that enjoys a paddle must come that moment when they first leave dry land, and as any dog (or dog owner) will tell you, it's a pretty big deal.
For your post-Bank Holiday enjoyment, here are
Don't worry, Captain Impatient. He gets the hang of it in the end.
It looks mean. It does. But he's fine. Honest.
Which is blue. We did not know that dogs came in blue.
Lab retrievers are bred for the water, but even so, these guys need a helping hand from their mam.
Factoid #2 - some or all of these dogs were in Marley & Me, if the comments from the video poster are to be believed.
Underwater dog photography. It's a thing. There's a whole book. And even a website.
That's your afternoon gone…

You know that moment when the dog isn't in the water but is still paddling his little legs like he is in the water and it just looks deadly?
Well, that.
Dog lover Lorna Kennedy has figured out a pretty cool way to exercise her pack of hounds.
Technically this breaches the 'swimming for first time' rules, but it's not every day you see a load of dogs swimming around after a yak in Connemara, and this clip deserves more views.
Because MUD will do fine.
Another one from the Connemara pack, and Lorna's voiceover says it all.
Lovely.
Back to dogs swimming for the first time, and this little fella was tired out by his efforts.

So you've all seen this one…
As the story goes - "My neighbours/mom/friends thought that the neighbourhood kids were breaking into the yard to use the pool. They installed a hidden cam and this is what was recorded while they were out."
No idea if that's true or not, but it's a Doberman on a water slide. What's important here?
Yes, yes, not technically a dog swimming. Not even a dog, ferchrissakes.
But we thought you needed to see a fat cat in a lifejacket.
In fairness to the reporters, everybody managed to keep a straight face. Although CBS anchor Alison Starling is struggling around the 0.10 mark.
