Victoria Beckham puts stamp on Glamour magazine
Victoria Beckham wanted to put her "stamp" on Glamour magazine as guest editor of the September issue.
The singer-turned-designer worked at the publication for five months as guest editor, and was praised by editor-in-chief Cindi Leive for her ideas, and the effort she put into the task.
In the completed magazine, Victoria brought features devoted to runway-ready hairstyles styled for actress Lily Collins, a fashion story on boy band The Wanted and a beauty section about bold eye makeup.
She told WWD: "I wanted to put my stamp on the magazine. "They were really open to my ideas, like I wanted to show Lily with not a lot of retouching. I have a very strong vision of what I like, and it's cool and a little more edgy."
Victoria appears on the cover of the magazine appearing naked aside from a tiara, blowing bubbles from a bathtub and Cindi says it is all part of her strategy to gain a new type of reader.
She said: "Our core readers have responded really well to our redesign. We are grabbing a girl that didn't consider herself a magazine person before - the 27-year-old who doesn't want to see anything fake or phony.
"We're showing a sense of fun and a sense of humour."
Glamour underwent a full redesign in May.
