Sarah Harding's debut solo material will "shock" fans, the singer has said.
The 30-year-old singer has confirmed her first album will be released in 2013, but many fans of her band Girls Aloud may not be expecting the direction she has planned.
She said: "I've always been a bit edgy, but I know I've got to come back with something strong.
"I've been songwriting and hopefully what I bring out will stick in people's minds. I can't say much, but it's not what people will expect. I think they might be shocked."
Harding also admits performing without her bandmates Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Kimberly Walsh and Nadine Coyle there to support her will cause great anxiety.
She added: "It's nerve-wracking. It's a scary idea to be on stage on your own too, as I'm so used to having the others with me, but I just need to be confident.
"I'm confident in my new music and what I'm doing now. I'm really enjoying having fun with fashion at the moment too."
