Lips set new gigging record

The Flaming Lips have set a new world record.

The band have played the most live shows in a 24-hour period, finishing off their string of eight performances in New Orleans.

Their journey through the Mississippi Delta started a day earlier in Memphis.

Jay-Z held the record previously with seven shows in 24 hours.
