Longoria to pursue career in politics

'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria is to pursue a career in politics.

It is understood the actress is taking on a new role as national co-chair of Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

To prepare for her new job, the self-described "over-achiever" has gone back to school to get a masters degree in Mexican-American studies.
