Wallace 'to get break from Eastenders'

Jessie Wallace has reportedly been written out of 'EastEnders' for three months.

The 40-year-old actress – who dumped ex-fiance Vince Morse on their wedding day last August after discovering he had sent a racy photo of her to his former girlfriend – has been given time off from her role as Kat Moon on the BBC One soap after "working solidly" since her cancelled nuptials.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "She's been given three months off and no one can blame her for taking a break.

"Jessie's worked solidly since her wedding nightmare and had already come back early from what would have been her honeymoon.

"It was a very easy decision to make for the show. She is a great actress and extremely popular on set. She'll come back stronger than ever."

Following the cancellation of her wedding, Wallace made a shock return to 'EastEnders' within two weeks – but bosses have now allowed her to rest.

A family friend said: "She's had a stressful six months.

"Jessie's convalescing after a long run and very stressful six months. She'll be back as soon as she's ready."

'EastEnders' chiefs ordered an emergency script change – which saw Kat go away to care for her dad Charlie, who is said to have suffered a stroke – to enable the brunette actress to take a break from the programme, and she has been given the option to extend her absence.

Wallace's alter-ego was last seen at Pat Butcher's (Pam St. Clement) funeral on January 13.
