IFTAs announce nominees for Rising Star Award

The nominees have been announced for the Rising Star Award at this year's Irish Film and Television Awards.

It was set up to highlight exceptional new talent in all areas of the Irish film industry, and the list of past winners includes Michael Fassbender and Saoirse Ronan.

Two actors are on this year's list, Chris O'Dowd and Emmett Scanlan, as well as two writer-directors.

Rebecca Daly worked on 'The Other Side of Sleep', and John Michael McDonagh worked on 'The Guard'.

The winner will be announced at the IFTA ceremony on February 11.
