Teenager wows 'X Factor' judges

Teenage 'X Factor' contestant Amelia Lily performed like a star “twice her age” during last night’s show.

The 16-year-old from Middlesbrough wowed the panel with a rendition of Beverley Knight’s 'Little Piece Of My Heart'.

After her storming performance, judge Louis Walsh said: “It was big, it was bold, it was beautiful and I think a star is born.”

Tulisa Contostavlos also heaped praise on Amelia.

“People work their whole lives and take forever to get to that level that you’re at now,” she said.

“You’ve come on that stage so much older than your years. You performed like a 30-year-old woman that has been perfecting her craft for years and years.

“That was amazing, you blew up the stage, your energy was off the chain.”

Other acts failed to make a similar impact, with one hapless hopeful being branded a “nervous wreck” after she sang Adele’s soul revival ditty 'Rolling In The Deep'.

Last night's episode showed the judges looking for talent in Liverpool and Birmingham.
