35,000 expected for Electric Picnic

Some 35,000 people are expected to travel to the Electric Picnic Festival in Co Laois today.

Headline acts such as Arcade Fire and The Chemical Brothers have attracted large crowds

Traffic is beginning to build on the M7 already this morning and Met Éireann is warning of heavy rainfall in some parts of the country over the weekend - so bring your wellies!

Festival site manager Robbie Butler said that despite the forecast, there are some home comforts, with on-site flush toilets and a café.
