Hudson and Bellamy engaged

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have got engaged.

The couple are currently expecting their first child together and the 32-year-old actress – who has a seven-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson – has now revealed they plan to marry after showing off a huge square-cut diamond ring during an appearance on the ‘Today Show’ this morning.

After host Matt Lauer pointed out her ring, Hudson laughed and said: "It just happened a week ago, I'm so glad you noticed. I haven't really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice.

"He's a beautiful man, and I'm excited.”

Hudson refused to give details on the proposal, which took place in New York last week, but admitted it was “very sweet, very romantic”, and said they have not yet set a wedding date.

The ‘Fool’s Gold’ star – who has been dating the Muse rocker for a year – recently insisted she has no plans to marry again.

She said: “I don’t like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don’t feel it necessary to get married.

“I already have one child and have had one divorce so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy.”

Hudson and Robinson divorced in 2006 after almost six years of marriage.
