McManus named Limerick's person of the year

JP McManus has been named Limerick's person of the year.

The announcement was made at a gala awards lunch earlier today.

The businessman and racehorse owner was nominated among 11 other outstanding Limerick people, including European boxing champion Willie Casey, transatlantic rower Sean McGowan, Southill parish priest Fr Pat Hogan, Concern Worldwide US director Siobhan Walsh and Mr World Kamal Ibrahim.
