Church: Cowell is scared of me

Charlotte Church thinks Simon Cowell was too scared to let her be a guest judge on 'The X Factor'.

The 'Crazy Chick' singer believes she would have been a better choice than last year's panellists - including Nicole Scherzinger, Katy Perry and Pixie Lott - because she knows more about the technicalities of singing than the 51-year-old music mogul himself.

She said: "I'd make a better judge than the others on that show because I know more about the technical side of singing than even Simon Cowell.

"But he wouldn't be able to control me, so he'd never have me on."

Charlotte - who was a judge on Andrew Lloyd Webber's BBC One talent search show 'Over The Rainbow' last year - also slammed 'The X Factor' as being "dreadful news" for everyone else in the music business.

She added to Esquire magazine: "That show doesn't have an interest in true craftsmanship or skill - it's all about your a*s, and hopefully you can keep half a tune.

"It's dreadful news for everyone else because there's no room on radio or TV for anything else."
