Tom Hanks has signed up to star in ‘Triple Frontier’.
The ‘Forrest Gump’ actor has been confirmed by producer Charles Roven to be appearing in the film, a follow-up to Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar winning movie ‘The Hurt Locker’.
He told ComingSoon.net: “Tom Hanks is starring in the film and we’re looking to cast other roles.
“We’re hoping to start shooting the movie sometime in mid-March.”
The movie is set on the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, a notoriously difficult-to-police area and a well-known base for organised crime.
Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal have written the script.
Tom, 54, last starred as the voice of Woody in hugely successful animated movie ‘Toy Story 3’, but has a number of projects coming up in 2011 and 2012, including ‘Larry Crowne’ alongside Julia Roberts and Bryan Cranston, and eagerly anticipated novel adaptation ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ with Sandra Bullock.
