Helena: Inclusion on Vanity Fair list 'made me laugh'

Helena Bonham Carter thought it was a joke when she was named as one of the best dressed celebrities of 2010 by Vanity Fair magazine.

The actress - who is known for her quirky and eccentric sense of style - was stunned to discover she had made the list, joining the likes of David Beckham, Carey Mulligan and Samantha Cameron.

She told the NY Daily News newspaper: "It was a triumph! It made me laugh because I thought it was a joke when I found out.

"But when I saw the article, I thought, 'Oh, the photos they've chosen are as bad as the ones they print when I'm worst dressed.' "

Speaking of their annual list - which also included Lady Gaga - the publication said it "is about individual taste, not fashion trends".

Despite her unconventional taste Helena, 44, has previously said she has no intention to change the way she dresses.

She said: "I don't feel any pressure to dress well. When I was younger, I cared more what people say. When I did do the Oscar thing, I did feel quite a lot of pressure to dress a certain way."
