Johnny Depp is to star in 'The Lone Ranger'.

The 'Tourist' actor will reteam with Gore Verbinski - the director of the first three 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies - for the project, where he will play the title character's Native American friend Tonto, Disney have confirmed.
